Self service password reset allows users to reset their password when they're away from an active directory network. Once it's enabled the next time a user logs onto Office 365 they will be prompted to setup their security questions. Once setup they will be able to reset using the link on the login box.
To enable self service password reset simply select it from the features list in the portal.
Then you need to select your security questions. You must select a minimum of 5, a user will be prompted to answer 3 of these.
In order for the password resets to write back to AD Destination for passwords needs to be enabled under Active Directory in Applications. It can be enabled by clicking the Edit button.
You can enable SSPR for certain classifications. Once enabled when a user next logs onto Office 365 they will be prompted to setup their security questions. Then, once activated, they can choose the reset password link when logging into Office 365. If they need to reset their password, they will have to answer 3 out of the set of security questions.
