Restricted characters in IAM Cloud passwords Print

This article relates to our products Simple Sign-On and Surp4ss! (remote password reset)

When a user creates a password in IAM Cloud's Simple Sign-On or Surp4ss! solutions, certain characters that are restricted.

1. Pound sign (£)

2. Full Stop (.)

3. Apostrophe (')

If any of these characters are used in a password the user will be presented with this error: 

We block these characters automatically as a way to protect against certain types of hacking attempts. 

In addition to these, you can add your own password rules with our password policies system.
