To use Cloud Drive Mapper for the first time you must first run the Cloud Drive Mapper wizard located in the IAM Cloud Portal


Log on to the IAM Cloud Portal with the log on details provided to you when you submitted the request to sign up to Cloud Drive Mapper! Once you are successfully signed into the IAM Cloud Portal  Select  > Features and Cloud Drive Mapper.

Setting up a mapping group

You can set up one or more groups of mapping configurations. Many customers only need a single group. But if you want to have different drives set-up for different users, for example if you were a school that wanted your students to have OneDrive for Business mapped to O:\, and if you wanted your staff to have OneDrive for Business mapped to S:\ then you can set-up two different mapping groups to reflect this. Each group can have multiple drives mapped to it, e.g. different SharePoint libraries (normally up to about 20 drives).

The following would be a common scenario.

F:\Finance (SharePoint Online)

H:\HR (SharePoint Online)

O:\Home (OneDrive for Business)

Z:\All Company (SharePoint Online)

You can set-up a single group like this for all your users.

Now, let's suppose that not all your users had permission to see your Finance SharePoint library. In this case, you could still set-up the group like above, however when Cloud Drive Mapper came to mapping the drives for a user who did not have access to the Finance SharePoint library, but did have access to everything else, the user would just get their H:\ O:\ and Z:\ drives mapped. And F:\ would be ignored.

Once your first mapping group is created, choose a friendly name and drive letter, this will be displayed in file explorer once the drive is mapped.

Underneath 'Group Name' there is the selection area for 'OneDrive or SharePoint Library'. Here you'll be able to either choose "Other Sharepoint LIbrary" - and insert a URL for a folder mapping OR select "OneDrive"

You can add as many drive classifications with as many drive mapping as you like. 

Once finished click 'continue'. You'll be presented with the screen below. Now you're almost ready to go! At this point click 'continue' and 'finish'. The download section will be available to you in the portal, along with install instructions.

License keys & mapping groups

When you come round to the install you'll need the License key, this can be found in your portal as indicated below. Each mapping group has its own licence key. The license key is what ties the user(s) to the drive settings.
